As 2017 commences, the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce is focusing heavily on our region’s future.

Throughout this year, you will hear much discussion about our future in areas such as industry growth, infrastructure schools, natural resources and beyond. As we look to the future, we know that what matters most is the health and welfare of our residents and, specifically, our youngest population, the children of Alachua County. In connection to our focus, I have personally chosen the March of Dimes’ annual “March for the Babies” to take a leadership role and positively influence the earliest start of our youngest and most vulnerable residents–the babies of Alachua County. I am chairing this year’s walk and looking to our regional businesses and civic community to help me begin and secure a positive future for our children.

I urge each of our businesses to join our Chamber team at the annual walk through either an independent walk team or joining our Chamber’s team, which strives to be one of the largest walk teams in the history of our local event. With 1,300 member companies who employ approximately 80,000 individuals, we can make this happen. I promise you’ll receive more than you give by inspiring your employees, raising money for research and outreach to improve the health of our region’s babies and enjoying an overall great day on Saturday, April 1st. On behalf of the March of Dimes, I promise you an inspiring, competitive and overall, great March for the future of our region.
