Telling the Story of a Greater GNV

Attention, members – this year, a key communications goal for the Chamber is to amplify all of the ways that you — our members — help to create a #GreaterGNV by doing business, volunteering and staying engaged in the community.   Recently, Nancy Eckert, President/CEO of LifeSouth Blood Centers, told us in 30 seconds how the community is integral to helping her organization succeed in its mission to provide a safe blood supply that meets or exceeds the needs in each community it serves, and to provide a variety of services in support of ongoing and emerging blood and transfusion-related activities. Each year, LifeSouth must collect 728,000 gallons of blood — that’s 728 donors/day — to meet the demand for blood transfusions. If you, or anyone you know, has ever needed a blood transfusion, you already know first-hand the important work LifeSouth does every day to support a #GreaterGNV.

LifeSouth’s story is just one of many we have shared in recent months and will continue to share throughout 2017. In fact, we hope you will join us by sharing how you are supporting a #GreaterGNV.  Whether you are hiring, serving in a volunteer post, or otherwise contributing to the community, use the hashtag #GreaterGNV to share your good deeds with our whole community. This week, watch our Facebook page as we count down seven ways Chamber members create a #GreaterGNV!

And don’t forget to donate at LifeSouth as soon as possible! Right now, our area is in critical need of Blood Type O – learn more here.
