Since its inception on July 8th, 1992, Trimark Properties has established a legacy in the greater Gainesville area by bringing fresh, innovative perspectives to real estate development and property management. This year, the individuals who have been instrumental in shaping the company into what it is today are taking time to reflect on accomplishments and fundamental moments as the firm celebrates its 25th year of business.
Trimark commenced commemorative festivities this November with a 25th Anniversary Kick-Off Luncheon, bringing together partners and employees to celebrate the firm’s considerable achievements. At the event, Trimark Properties’ Managing Partner, John Fleming, delivered a speech recounting the company’s history and recognizing the hard work of those who have contributed to its success over the last 25 years.
“We celebrate this momentous milestone not only with our current staff, but with our past staff members and vendors who all helped to propel Trimark Properties forward,” he said.
Trimark Properties has grown exponentially since its formation. Starting with the acquisition of just one student apartment complex, the company gradually broadened its assets to form a dynamic portfolio of multifamily and commercial properties.
Over the course of its existence, the company has developed and renovated 26 apartment communities, 30 historic houses, 2 luxury residence halls and over 25 state-of-the-art commercial office buildings, establishing a reputation of excellent customer service with the 1,600 tenants who live in its properties each year.
A leading contributor to the revitalization of the area between downtown Gainesville and the University of Florida campus, the company’s most notable accomplishment is arguably its involvement in the development of the Innovation Square region, the city’s growing business district that is now home to dozens of tech start-ups.
Between its assortment of Gainesville apartments and commercial office buildings, the company has won 32 City Beautification Awards for its efforts in improving the town’s urban landscape.
“It is simply amazing to be part of the change in the area over these past 25 years,” said Fleming. “What once was a forgotten area of Gainesville is becoming a highly desired, vibrant, and walkable urban core.”
On its silver anniversary, the company has a lot to celebrate. Just this year alone, it broke ground on two properties: Cascades, a 67-unit luxury apartment complex, and Ingenuity, a 50,000 square foot luxury office building in Innovation Square, both to be completed in 2018. Though it seems as if the company has reached the peak of its accomplishments with the large-scale projects it has spearheaded over the last few years, Fleming hints that this is only the beginning of an even brighter future for Trimark.
The firm plans to continue developing land in the Innovation Square area, with talks in the works to design luxury condominiums for the young professionals employed in the region. It is also currently renovating several office buildings in Catalyst Park Research Park off of NW 8th Avenue, where the company will also design its first wet lab space.
“Twenty-five years truly goes by in little more than a blink of an eye when you are passionate about what you do, stay focused, and are dedicated to constant improvement,” Fleming finished. “I reflect on how far Trimark Properties has come since 1992 and am extremely excited to see what is achieved in the next twenty-five years as we move from arithmetic to geometric growth.”
